Terms of Endearment
The Two Of Us Productions, the award winning theater company based in Columbia County NY, is pleased to present TERMS OF ENDEARMENT by Dan Gordon.
Challenges in life and love test the resilience of a mother-daughter relationship in Dan Gordon’s adaption of TERMS OF ENDEARMENT from the Oscar-winning screenplay by James L. Brooks and Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Larry McMurtry. Though Emma is often exasperated by her highly-opinionated mother Aurora, they talk every day about their problems, from Aurora finding unexpected love even as she becomes a reluctant grandmother, to Emma’s struggle with her troubled marriage. But when they need one another most, will they be able to find the courage in each other? This funny and touching
story captures the delicate, sometimes fractured bonds between mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and lovers, both old and new.

Lake Street Dive-Style Jazz-Pop
Rachael & Vilray perform the same sort of vintage, mid-20th century jazzy pop familiar to fans of Rachael’s jazzy, soulful pop outfit Lake Street Dive.
Rachael Price and Vilray met at the New England Conservatory of Music in fall 2003 and became friends. Their duo grew from a shared reverence for the pop music of the 1930s and ‘40s and its wide range of emotions. With simple arrangements and only a guitar for accompaniment, they perform original works and revive forgotten gems of the jazz big bands and Western swing ensembles. Their sound recalls both the warmth of radio’s golden age and the intimacy of parlor concerts in a time before recordings.

Bindlestiff Cirkus Cabin Fever Cabaret
Adult Oriented Show – Hudson’s own Bindlestiff Family Cirkus continues its wintertime tradition of hosting a monthly cabaret, featuring a variety of circus, theater, comedy and musical entertainers. Each month this winter, Bindlestiff Cirkus will bring a new lineup, with acts including trapeze, contortion, acrobatic balance, sword swallowing, juggling, physical comedy, and oddball novelty turns. The Bindlestiff stage is one of the few arenas in the world where attendees may see internationally renowned street performers, featured acts from Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Brothers, and artists from “America’s Got Talent” next to local legends, live, on stage, and in the same show.
Live music is a defining feature of Bindlestiff’s cabaret shows, with witty, original tunes by a variety of NYC’s best composers and accompanists. Bindlestiff’s unique style reflects deep roots in NYC’s underground club scene, nods to political street theater, and a steady respect for the traditions of American popular entertainment and illegitimate theater.

PREVITE/SAFT/CLINE
A powerful new trio of master musicians reveling in a sonic landscape created out of thin air.
Bobby Previte is a composer and performer whose work explores the nexus between notated and improvised music. One of the seminal figures of the 80s New York ‘Downtown’ scene, Previte has received multiple awards for music composition, most recently the Greenfield Prize for Music and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He leads a plethora of ensembles from his instrument, the drums. including Blueprints—projected/conducted historical fragments, Rhapsody— acoustic song cycle, Mass—metal + medieval, Terminals—concertos for soloist and So Percussion. “His ensembles speak in visionary tongues.”—The New Yorker
Jamie Saft is a virtuoso pianist, keyboardist, producer, and composer from New York. His stylistic versatility, multi-instrumentalist capabilities, and production skills have been featured with Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, HR, The B-52’s, John Adams, Laurie Anderson, Donovan, Antony and the Johnsons, and Iggy Pop. Saft leads the New Zion Trio, The Jamie Saft Trio, and The Jamie Saft Quartet.
Guitar explorer Nels Cline is best known these days as the lead guitarist in the band Wilco. His recording and performing career — spanning jazz, rock, punk and experimental — is well into its fourth decade, with over 200 recordings, including at least 30 for which he is leader. Cline has received many accolades including Rolling Stone anointing him as both one of 20 “new guitar gods” and one of the top 100 guitarists of all time (which is, of course, completely absurd).
